Making Progress..

...in both yoga & the house.

I have attended Bikram yoga 3 days in a row!! Holy cow...it feels so great. I'm taking the day off tomorrow to spend time with Brady while he's off work. We have a whole slue of things to do for the house. We don't get to move our stuff in until the 14th because we are waiting on the painters and the carpet to be installed. They will actually be done a couple days sooner, but we are going to the Kings of Leon concert in Austin on Tuesday for my birthday...so we will just have to wait :)

~Here are some pictures of the progress~

As far as Bikram goes...it is going great. I had my best day yet today. I'm getting acclimated to the heat, and boy does that help. I'm incredibly sore though...but I must push through that. I definitely didn't expect to love it this much. That's what I get for being snooty about my yoga studios.

Also, as I was looking to print out the recycling list in San Antonio I found out that it is one of the best in Texas! I'm so excited that I wanted to share it with y'all.

Whewie!

Well, the past couple days have been a whirlwind to say the least. I took possession of the house & went to Bikram yoga for the first time on Wednesday. I am so glad to finally have the house!! The interior is being painted right now--I will post pics tomorrow because I had a little hiccup with my camera...I'll explain that in a minute.

Bikram was great! I'm so glad to being doing yoga again...I just love it. Although the entire 90 minutes I'm there I am wonder why the hell I would subject myself to this. But after class is when I find out why...because it works wonders for your mind, body, & soul. It is such a great feeling coming out of that HOT room and into the cool 82' dressing room knowing you just did something SO GREAT for your entire being. I liked it so much that I went back today. And I'm probably going tomorrow, too...if I'm not too sore ;)

Alright, about the camera.

Sooo...as I was moving things back and forth between my house and Scriven's my DSLR managed to fall out of my backpack and onto the driveway. Bummer. BIG bummer.

Take a look...

Sad, huh? Well, lucky for me...my birthday is on Monday! I got a new one because they said it would cost almost double the original price to fix it. As I'm unpacking it at home my contractor walks in so, naturally, I show him my busted up camera to explain why I got a new one. Like I have previously thought, he also thought that just the lens busted & a piece was left on the body. He took some pliers to it and got it off! So, I will be making a trip back to Best Buy to return my camera & just get a new lens (& save some $moolah$ too). He walked in a just the perfect time, otherwise I never would have thought to pry it off myself.

There is a life-situation update for you!

Today Was THE Day

Well, the day I have been waiting for for a while has come and (almost) gone! I closed on my first house today. How exciting! Now I just have five more days until I actually get it...it's soo close!

Many other great things happened today, so I'm going to list them here:

-My daily calendar (which provides insightful & witty quotes from the Universe everyday) said:
"It's not as if the currents of life
must be studied, examined, charted, explained, plied,
or channeled inorder to be effortlessly ridden upon.
Besides, you'd get soaked.

Let it be easy. You already know
what you need to know, to have it all"
The Universe

This really spoke to me because I'm always trying to figure everything out. It was a reminder that I don't HAVE to learn everything in order to live a blissful life.

Next on the list:
-I got a washer & dryer for the new house. I am beyond excited about this.
-Purchased 3 books, that I know will be GREAT. They are:
Practicing the Power of Now (a supplement to the awesome extended Power of Now by Eckart Tolle)
The Subtle Energy Body: The Complete Guide by Maureen Lockhart, Ph D.
...And the Truth Shall Set You Free by David Icke

I have already started reading the 3rd one listed. Holy Moses! This is right up my alley. It is basically explaining everything I have been reading up on: spirituality, energy and how it is related to the physical body, the Global Elite, and the solution to this issue. Be expecting some of what I learn to be shared here.

There is a little life-situation update for y'all. I hope this finds you in a happy place in yours.

Peace.

Inspired

I feel inspired. I just finished watching Masterclass: Oprah Winfrey. Her view on life and our purpose here really rings true to me. She inspires me to find my purpose in life. I wish I knew because it would make my life a lot easier. I'm ready to start fulfilling my purpose!! I want to make a difference in this world, I don't have time for depressed, low days anymore. It feels great to actually want to get out there and do something! To feel like what I have to contribute will make a difference.

Take this as a vow to myself for no more 'low' days.

Also, I kind of want to get a tattoo of a meaningful word, phrase, symbol, saying, verse, etc. I feel like I think about this at least two or three times a day. I can't just pick out one though. I suppose I'm not ready yet, I will know the word when I see it :)

Life Situation Update

Days left until:
-we close on the house 4
-we get the house 8

I'm excited! I've already started packing up. Yes, I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have actually done something ahead of time in a while. I've really been dragged down by the procrastination bug these past couple years. I was so good in high school!! I suppose the fact that I lived with my parents had something to do with that, they are pretty on top of things.

We meet the contractor at the house tomorrow morning to get an estimate about what it's going to take to get our wants/needs completed. Looking forward to that! We are also picking out paint, carpet, and a kitchen sink & faucet. Super excited!! We picked out most of our furniture last week, but I think I've changed my mind on a couple of pieces, so we will probably be making a trip back to Furniture Row as well. Things are starting to pick up as far as home stuff goes...I suppose studying will take the back burner for a while. Then, I'm going to have to hit the books hard. Woo hoo!! I just don't feel like getting a CPA will help me make a difference in the world...I suppose it's all in the plan though.

Apologies for the ramblings. I hope y'all have a fantastic, sunny, and awesome week!

Peace. Love. Harmony.

I Can See the Light

We finally came to an agreement with the sellers of the house. It took a little longer than normal because they just had a baby yesterday. Yes. Yesterday. I think it's crazy that they are selling their house while welcoming an addition to the family. Anyway, if all goes as planned we will close on April 1st and actually get possession on the 4th. So I have just over 6 weeks until I have a home of my own. To share with Brady, of course. I am hoping that everything goes smoothly during the inspection period.

Now is when I can start looking at things I need to get for the house (washer/dryer, backyard furniture--both which I'm super jazzed about, paint for the *blue* nursery, etc) and at the little things we need to get done to it (new carpet in master, fix the front porch, etc). I am so excited about this part. I just hope I don't get too overwhelmed, because I KNOW I will be. Whenever I have so many options I tend to shut down. I suppose this will be a learning experience and a little character building as well. I'm going to have to learn to make decisions even when I don't have specific guidelines to go by.

Also, Mack got professionally groomed for the first time today. He is such a beautiful dog!! His hair is the softest I've ever felt. I don't know what they did to it but I need to find out. They said he was very well behaved and such a great dog. I already knew that though ;) I decided to sign him up for Intermediate training classes at PetSmart. The trainer said that he is ready for it so I'm just going to continue right along.

Today's Daily Word was a good one.
I See
It refers to seeing the hope and the good in the world through an eye of faith rather than looking at the world as suffering from injustice and frequently, in my opinion, from delusional and greedy leaders of all kinds. This is something I struggle with because for the past couple years I have become very cynical towards the government and people in general. I will say that since my spiritual journey has been renewed I am now able to appreciate people a lot more than I could in the past.

One last thing...I saw this today. San Angelo, TX (my hometown) was put on the America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations list by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Here is a picture for you:
Brady and I on the Riverwalk in San Antonio.

I hope this post finds you in a happy place in your life. Until next time, peace.

The Ball's in Their Court Now

Well, I put a contract on a house today!! I'm so excited...now we play the waiting game. Somehow everything works out and hopefully it will do just that as the next few weeks unfold. We are starting to look at washers and dryers, think of how to arrange furniture, and dream of our sauna. I hope we aren't jumping the gun here, but it's all so exciting! Here is a picture of the front of the house.

Also, with the move comes a change in yoga studios for me. This actually should have happened a long time ago but I've been so stubborn. I'm kind of a snob when it comes to studios because I was spoiled by Sunstone in Dallas. It is such an amazing studio and I'm having a hard time getting over the fact that they don't have one in San Antonio...yet. It is a little harder than I expected when it comes to branching out and trying different kinds of yoga. Hopefully, I can accomplish this goal in the next week. Hold me to it, K?

Just wanted to share my excitement with everyone! Peace.
