I've been wanting to blog lately, so this is the perfect time to start again! I so desperately want to share what I learn with the world. I read a passage from Meditations from the Mat almost daily and I'd like to share some of what I learn here. Here is the passage from Day 19:
"Well, darkness has a hunger that's insatiable, and lightness has a call that's hard to hear." -Indigo Girls
"I read recently that a new war crime has been added to the list of crimes the United Nations is prosecuting. I spent some time digesting this information, willing myself to envision its victims and to imagine its perpetrators as my brothers and sisters. I tried to feel for a moment the suffering of human beings lost in the living hell that is war. My work with children and families in the relatively quiet towns and cities of the United States has given me a sense of the universality of that suffering. There is no end to it, and we minimize this truth, or believe that we are somehow disconnected from it, at our own peril.
Not long ago, a friend of mine, went to a gas station to call for help with her drug problem. She couldn't use the phone in her apartment because she had already sold it for drugs. A few months later, after cleaning up her act a little, she went back to using drugs--only to experience far greater consequences this time. Who among us has not either fallen into a downward spiral or been afraid of following in my friend's footsteps? Who has not known the insatiable hunger of darkness?
'Lightness is has a call that's hard to hear,' but each time we choose to hear it, the call becomes a little clearer. We spend our days badgered by voices that tell us to judge other, fear others, harm others, or harm ourselves. But we are not obligated to listen to those voices, or even to take responsibility for them. They may be where we came from, but they are not where we are going. There is another voice, a voice that shines. Ahimsa is the practice of listening to that voice of lightness, cultivating that voice, trusting that voice, acting upon that voice."
Ahimsa means nonviolence in thought, speech, and action. It is one of the cornerstone practices of yoga. We are asked to pay no attention to those negative, harmful thoughts about both others and ourselves. As we go about our daily life, let go of those thoughts and embrace the positive, light ones. See how this works for you. Remember, we are all connected :)
Peace.

How Come
I just heard this song and I feel this same way. How come?! I simply don't understand why we can't just love. Love. Love.
How Come
Ray Lamontagne
People on the street now
Faces long and grim
Souls are feeling heavy
And faith is growing thin
Fears are getting stronger
You can Feel them on the rise
Hopelessness got some by the throat you can see it in their eyes
I said how come
How come
Everybody on a shoestring
Everybody in a hole
Everybody crossing their fingers and toes
Government man spin his politics till he got you pinned
Everybody trying to reach out to each other
But they don't know where to begin
I said how come
I can't tell
the free world
from living hell
I said how come
How come
all I see
is a child of god
in misery
I said how come the pistol now as profit
The bullet some kind of lord and king
But pain is the only promise that this so called savior is going to bring
Love can be a liar
And justice can be a thief
And freedom can be an empty cup from which everybody want to drink
I said how come
I can't tell
the free world
from living hell
I said how come
How come
all i see
is a child of god
in misery
I said how come
Its just man killing man
Killing man
Killing man
Killing man
Killing man
I don't understand
Its just man killing man
How Come

Truth
Over the past year or two, I have really been searching for the Truth. Truth about God, the world, the universe, and beyond. Of course, no one really knows why we are all here but we can make some pretty good guesses. One of the biggest questions of my life is "why can't we all just get along?!"
I have never understood why there is so much hate in the world. I don't understand how we have the capability to develop technology to use limited resources as fuel but we "can't" find a way to use water as fuel. I don't understand why someone would want to kidnap another's child.
Well, that post about Lady Gaga the other day? I think that there is a lot more to it. It is hard to read about it. I'm talking about the Illuminati now. I have just found the tip of the iceberg. I feel like they are the source of all of our problems. They are looked upon as satanic. Click that link for a ton more information. There is so much: from our cell phone towers, to the ingredients in our food (namely MSG & aspartame), to mainstream media, to September 11, to the pharmaceutical companies, and the list goes on...
Right now I feel as if it is my duty to bring awareness to this demented subject. This is not me just being a conspiracist, or having some crazy off-the-wall thoughts. This is real. You can't deny the evidence once you have seen some of it...the main place where I'm getting most of my information is educate-yourself.org. But once you have discovered this topic, you will soon find it everywhere
It is important to be in the proper mindset when reading all of this information. It can easily depress you because at first it seems that you have absolutely NO control over what is happening in our world, our society, and on our lovely planet. BUT, the truth is we do have control-at least a little bit. Our power is in awareness. The more people that know about it, that are aware of it, the greater chance we have of putting a stop to it. Of course, we will get no where without God. We must listen to that little voice, that whisper, and use it as our guide. That, my friends, is God speaking through you. I say through because God, the Spirit, dwells within us. He is not some man in the sky, therefore he cannot speak to us. We have been led to believe that because that's what they want us to believe.
I feel as though all of this (me becoming aware of the Illuminati & everything it entails) is an answer. Or at least the beginning of an answer to all of my thoughts, wishes, and prayers to find some sort of answer to better help me understand the world and humanity.
After all, the Daily Word is answered prayer.
(I could keep writing for days but I suppose I will save some of my thoughts and new information for future posts. If you think I'm crazy now or if you want to know more don't hesitate to look around on the internet. Like I said, educate-yourself.org is a great place to start.)

Inspired
I feel inspired. I just finished watching Masterclass: Oprah Winfrey. Her view on life and our purpose here really rings true to me. She inspires me to find my purpose in life. I wish I knew because it would make my life a lot easier. I'm ready to start fulfilling my purpose!! I want to make a difference in this world, I don't have time for depressed, low days anymore. It feels great to actually want to get out there and do something! To feel like what I have to contribute will make a difference.
Take this as a vow to myself for no more 'low' days.
Also, I kind of want to get a tattoo of a meaningful word, phrase, symbol, saying, verse, etc. I feel like I think about this at least two or three times a day. I can't just pick out one though. I suppose I'm not ready yet, I will know the word when I see it :)
Life Situation Update
Days left until:
-we close on the house 4
-we get the house 8
I'm excited! I've already started packing up. Yes, I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have actually done something ahead of time in a while. I've really been dragged down by the procrastination bug these past couple years. I was so good in high school!! I suppose the fact that I lived with my parents had something to do with that, they are pretty on top of things.
We meet the contractor at the house tomorrow morning to get an estimate about what it's going to take to get our wants/needs completed. Looking forward to that! We are also picking out paint, carpet, and a kitchen sink & faucet. Super excited!! We picked out most of our furniture last week, but I think I've changed my mind on a couple of pieces, so we will probably be making a trip back to Furniture Row as well. Things are starting to pick up as far as home stuff goes...I suppose studying will take the back burner for a while. Then, I'm going to have to hit the books hard. Woo hoo!! I just don't feel like getting a CPA will help me make a difference in the world...I suppose it's all in the plan though.
Apologies for the ramblings. I hope y'all have a fantastic, sunny, and awesome week!
Peace. Love. Harmony.

Holy Hell
I just came across this article and my heart is racing. I LOVE Lady Gaga. I think she sends out a great message: Love yourself.
I've been reading about a certain subject this past week. I don't really recollect how I became aware of it but I've been reading on it because it is such an insane, yet very realistic suspicion. I'm talking about the Illuminati. Don't know what I'm talking about? I'd don't really either, but I'm going to learn more about it. I've seen all the symbols, but never really thought anything of it. Now I'm super curious. (As I write this, I feel like the government is going to close my blog or something crazy like that!) It talks about mind control (I must learn more about this..!)
Anyway, here is the article.
(let me know your thoughts)
It speaks of how Lady G could be a puppet for the Illuminati.
Needless to say, I'm kind of sad to find this out about one of my favorite musicians. But should it? Make me sad, that is. I will have to find out more about all of this...
Do you know anything? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Holidays!!
Hello!! It's been a while...I just got home from Michigan yesterday. My parents and I went to visit for Thanksgiving. It was so great to spend quality time with family that I don't get to see very often. I wish we didn't live so far apart so we could see each other more often. (Although it is only one flight away!)
I am so excited about what this holiday season has in store!! As of right now, I have 3 days of classes and 2 days of finals left. As in...FOREVER! This is such an awesome feeling--although I know I will probably miss it after I start working full-time next year haha. I feel like I have been in the "transition period" between school and work for 3 years now. Starting my junior year of college I began to seriously think about the future--as far as careers go--until about a month ago, when I accepted my first full-time J.O.B!!! After finals, I'm headed to San Antonio to find a house and to somewhat settle in--which I am so very ready for. I can't wait to have some sense of a 'normal' life. No more having to think about the next step for a while...
I am also super excited because Brady and I will be so close to each other once I'm done with school. We have made it work with the distance, but I think that anyone can agree that it's not ideal. I'm so ready to be able to be with him without knowing that it will come to an end soon (as in either of us having to go back home).
Also, as far as the depression/anxiety goes...I'm happy to say that I rarely ever feel depressed anymore (almost never!! but I don't want to jinx myself here...) and I am able to control my anxious thoughts when they arise. With that being said, I have had literally no 'bad days' for the past 3-4 weeks. I use the words 'bad day' to describe my mental-emotional state..that's not to say that things don't go wrong here or there. I am just better equipped to handle to daily speed bumps.
Anyway, it's time for me to learn and study for my finals next week!! Take care and happy holidays!!

Home is where your heart is
I can relate to a lot of this week's Sunday Secrets. Here is the one I can relate to the most:

This is how I feel with Brady--I know I have told him this recently but I feel like I have come home :) It's neat to know that someone else feels 'at home' with their significant other, too.

Home Sweet HOME
A trip home was just what I needed. Let's just say that I feel somewhat "normal" for the first time in a long time, and when I say long-I mean it. I got some TLC from my amazing parents and got to see good friends. I got to have thought-provoking conversation. (Hah I find it funny that I just said that because I have been trying to rid myself of my thoughts) But, these conversations were about what I usually think about so it was nice to know that other people are thinking the same things I am.
Also, I got to see a college friend, Cruise Duke, play at Blaine's while I was in San Angelo. It was such great timing because I rarely ever go to SA so that just made the weekend that much better!! It was great to see him and I wish him nothing but good luck :)
This evening, when I got home my mom called to tell me she accidentally deleted her recording of Lady GaGa on the Today Show from the DVR (that she watches everyday) and proceeded to bawl. The poor thing:/ Hopefully, I can figure something out for her...
The main thing missing in all of this is BRADY! I am counting down the days until I get to see him. Actually right now we are still counting weeks because 4 weeks sounds better than 28 days or however many it is...I miss him so much!
Anyway, I hope your weekend was as good as mine was. I feel like a new person, and I LOVE IT!
Oh yeah, here are a couple pics from the weekend:
