Inspired

I feel inspired. I just finished watching Masterclass: Oprah Winfrey. Her view on life and our purpose here really rings true to me. She inspires me to find my purpose in life. I wish I knew because it would make my life a lot easier. I'm ready to start fulfilling my purpose!! I want to make a difference in this world, I don't have time for depressed, low days anymore. It feels great to actually want to get out there and do something! To feel like what I have to contribute will make a difference.

Take this as a vow to myself for no more 'low' days.

Also, I kind of want to get a tattoo of a meaningful word, phrase, symbol, saying, verse, etc. I feel like I think about this at least two or three times a day. I can't just pick out one though. I suppose I'm not ready yet, I will know the word when I see it :)

Life Situation Update

Days left until:
-we close on the house 4
-we get the house 8

I'm excited! I've already started packing up. Yes, I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have actually done something ahead of time in a while. I've really been dragged down by the procrastination bug these past couple years. I was so good in high school!! I suppose the fact that I lived with my parents had something to do with that, they are pretty on top of things.

We meet the contractor at the house tomorrow morning to get an estimate about what it's going to take to get our wants/needs completed. Looking forward to that! We are also picking out paint, carpet, and a kitchen sink & faucet. Super excited!! We picked out most of our furniture last week, but I think I've changed my mind on a couple of pieces, so we will probably be making a trip back to Furniture Row as well. Things are starting to pick up as far as home stuff goes...I suppose studying will take the back burner for a while. Then, I'm going to have to hit the books hard. Woo hoo!! I just don't feel like getting a CPA will help me make a difference in the world...I suppose it's all in the plan though.

Apologies for the ramblings. I hope y'all have a fantastic, sunny, and awesome week!

Peace. Love. Harmony.

Technology (womp womp)

All day today I have been trying to customize my blog so that it is enjoyable for all of you. I am somewhat frustrated because it isn't easy. If you know me, you know that I love technology and I consider myself pretty savvy in this area. BUT Blogger is another story...I suppose with some *patience* I will be able to figure it out. I suppose the universe is trying to teach me this quality because I find myself trying to be patient quite a lot recently.

The Daily Word for today was protection. This brought me a great sense of peace; to be reminded that I have the cover of God's protection over me. To know that everything is going according to the universe's plan and that it's OK when things in life aren't perfect. That, as a matter of fact, life is suppose to be messy!

Mack is starting to assume the role of 'retriever' more and more every day. This is what I saw when I went to let him in from outside today. There is no telling how long he was patiently and politely sitting there. I know the lighting is bad, but I still wanted to share!

This is Mack as he sits by me while I click around on the computer. I think he has come to dislike when I am on the comp because he knows he doesn't get as much attention as usual. Sorry buddy.

That little tennis ball is a squeaker...he will just sit there and squeak it until you can't stand it anymore. He loves it!!

Hello Hello

I've decided to start a blog!! Sometimes, I feel like I have so much to say and I don't know where to start so I figured a blog would be a good outlet for times when I feel like this. I don't really know where this will go or what exactly I will write about, but I'm excited.

I guess I can start off by telling you a little bit about myself. I am about to graduate with my Master's in Accounting from SMU in Dallas, TX. I went to undergrad at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX. These past few years have been filled with trying to figure myself out. Who I am, what I stand for, what I want to do with my life, you know, all of those sorts of things. Sometimes I think I over-analyze things--to a fault. Yes, sometimes it is good to analyze things--but not to a point where it makes you crazy! I feel like this is what I do to myself. In fact, I KNOW this is what I do to myself. I have experienced mild depression & anxiety over this past year. I think it is attributable to my over-analyzing nature and the phase of life I am in, among other things. I tell you this because dealing with these things has forced me to turn within and find what truly makes me happy. And I want to share with you what I have learned. Hopefully that's what this blog will allow me to do...we will see :)

Anyway, there is WAY more to me than just where I went to school and the fact that I deal with depression & anxiety. Neither of these things define who I am. I suppose you will get a sense of that as time goes on...I hope that by me being able to share what I have learned through all of this will help others & in turn, help myself!

I am excited about this adventure & I hope to keep up with it. Soooo, if anyone is actually reading this...I would LOVE to know!! Also, I'm open to suggestions and ideas of what to write about. The sky's the limit!!!

Naturally me,
Carly
